What we've been up to

Skatepark consultation

Earlier this year, we asked you what you wanted the new Keynsham skate park to look like.  The final designs are out now.  Take a look and tell us what you think!

Late big breakfast

18 young people who’d just got their G.C.S.E results, came along to this event to speak to Connexions Personal advisors and youth workers to help them decide what they want to do next.

Fil-MakingFilm project

We have been working with NESA and Suited and Booted for 20 weeks to make a series of short films about what it is like to be a young person living in Keynsham.  We learnt about film work, animation, editing, and using special effects.

We made a copy of the Cadbury's "eyebrows" video which was shown at Cadbury's managers staff briefing to let them know about all the good work we’ve been doing.  Some of our work also got made into a book.

   Graffiti

Graffiti project

Some of us who have just left school have been working with graffiti Artist Nick Blythe from Bath Youth For Christ on a graffiti project under Echo Bridge.  We have a lot of respect for those who created the previous graffiti project and were proud to share our artwork with the local community.  We also made some canvasses for the new-look centre.

New look for TimeOut

We’ve been making some changes to the centre.  As well as redecorating, we now have:

  • activities room where we can run sessions such as health & fitness, pilates, yoga, health checks, aerobics, and dance, break-dancing Circus skills
  • interactive whiteboard and projector to show the films and media projects we have made
  • a cooker and hob in the kitchen so we can provide food and run cooking sessions
  • sound proofed one-to-one room
  • internet café style area
